Sergio Jaramillo, M.D., F.A.A.S.M. is board-certified in both neurology and sleep medicine, and provides comprehensive care for patients affected by sleep disorders and other neurological problems. At The Neurology Group in Miami, Dr. Jaramillo uses his medical expertise, listening skills, and compassion to help patients from southeastern Florida improve their quality of life.
As a physician who understands the far-reaching effects of chronic sleep loss, Dr. Jaramillo strives to deliver effective treatment plans for patients with insomnia, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, and other frustrating sleep disorders. He also offers a complete menu of general neurology services, including diagnostic testing and treatment for migraines, spinal cord problems, and chronic neurological diseases. Including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's Disease, Peripheral Nerve disease, Myasthenia Gravis, stroke and others.
Dr. Jaramillo earned his undergraduate degree in biology at the University of Tampa. He then received his medical degree, graduating with honors, from The Medical School of the Americas, located on the island of Nevis in the Caribbean.
He completed an internship in internal medicine at Northside Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio, before going on to complete a three-year residency in neurology at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC, where he was chief resident. After serving as chief resident at GUH and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Washington, DC, Dr. Jaramillo completed his fellowship in sleep medicine at George Washington University Hospital.
Dr. Jaramillo speaks English, Spanish, and French. Dr. Jaramillo Jr. is affiliated with Baptist Health South Florida, Jackson Hospital in Miami, West Kendall Baptist Hospital, and South Miami Hospital. He is also an Associate Professor of Neurology at Florida International University Medical School.
